His Excellency Hassan Abdullah Al Thawadi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, revealed that nearly 1.2 million tickets for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches have been sold, after the second sale period.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy said during a dialogue session within the activities of the Qatar Economic Forum entitled “Organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022”: “There is a record demand for tickets for the tournament and the great turnout is an indication of the enthusiasm of the masses to come to Qatar.”
Al-Thawadi explained that the fans will come from all over the world to watch the matches, and in Qatar they will enjoy a championship held on our land.
He continued: We received 27 million requests for World Cup tickets, and 2 million of them were responded to, and we will provide them with housing options that meet all needs at acceptable prices.

Al-Thawadi stressed his pride in what Qatar has achieved in the field of workers’ rights, adding: $28 billion to provide jobs for workers during the World Cup.

Al-Thawadi noted that “the infrastructure for the Qatar 2022 World Cup is ready despite the Covid-19 pandemic.”
