The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has nabbed as many as 8 people in crimes related to pick-pocketing and thefts.
The CID in a statement has said that all the 8 persons nabbed in connection to this are Africans and they were part of a network who used to steal valuables and cash by pickpocketing in areas that are crowded and busy.
A special team was setup to look into the matter after the department received complaints about thefts on a daily basis.
During the preliminary investigations into the matter, the names of many suspects popped up and they were interrogated, and after searches were made many valuable items were recovered from their possession.
Through intensified search and investigation, a number of suspects were arrested and valuable items were seized from them.
