Doha Bank has partnered with Global IME Bank (GIBL) to offer on-the-go remittance solutions to Nepalese expatriates residing in Qatar “to demonstrate its commitment to adopting new technologies aimed at providing customers with convenient and cost-effective services”.
The new online service will enable Doha Bank customers to transfer money instantly to their GIBL bank accounts.
Customers will also able to remit money to other Nepal bank accounts and get credit on the same banking day in Nepal before the noon cut-off time.

GIBL’s commitment to providing a reliable and compliant process that complements our competitive strength makes them an excellent partner to work with on developing and expanding our cross-border remittance services. Doha bank is committed to bringing forth the latest technologies to our customers, making banking simple, convenient, and cost effective for them,” Doha Bank CEO Dr R Seetharaman said in a statement.
Doha Bank chief strategy, corporate performance and marketing officer Mohamed Abdulla M J al-Thani said: “To promote digital remittance amongst its customers, Doha Bank’s collaboration with GIBL will give Nepalese customers the access to remit money to Nepal whenever and wherever they want by registering for International Money Transfer via Doha Bank’s mobile app and online banking portal.”
Doha Bank chief Retail Banking officer Braik al-Marri added: “The partnership with GIBL is set to benefit the Nepalese community in Qatar by providing them with the right products and services, to help them meet their banking needs in Nepal, and remit money to their home country in a quick and convenient way.”
