Qatar’s Emir meets with Egyptian president in Sharm El Sheikh
Qatar’s Emir has received a warm welcome after arriving in Egypt today for the 26th Arab League summit.
According to QNA, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and his delegation were greeted at the airport in Sharm El Sheikh by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
This is one of the first meetings of the two heads of state, whose countries have been at odds in the past two years due to differing politics, most recently about what should be done to ease the political crisis in Libya.
Today, the leaders apparently discussed “means of strengthening Arab solidarity” and “regional and international issues of interest to both countries.”
