HH the Emir Participates in GCC Closing Session

Riyadh, December 10 (QNA) – HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani took part at noon today in the 36th meeting of the GCC Supreme Council’s closing session, held under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the two holy mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia at Al Dir’aiyah Palace in the city of Riyadh.

At the outset of the session, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani read the Riyadh declaration of the GCC Supreme Council’s 36th session in which he said the GCC leaders reviewed the march of joint work as well as political, social and economic changes in the region and the world, and their direct repercussions on GCC while inspired by the historic role and responsibility of GCC states as part of the Arab and Islamic nations.

The declaration, carried by Saudi state news agency SPA, said the tolerant religion and goals and objectives of the Statute of the Cooperation Council require the strengthening and promotion of Gulf citizenship, and the common interests of the citizens of the GCC states, and ties of kinship and history and common destiny among them.
