His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and His Excellency President Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, held an official session of talks at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. During the session, ways of strengthening existing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries were discussed in various fields of cooperation, especially in the fields of investment and economy.
His Highness the Emir and His Excellency the Congolese President exchanged views on the most prominent regional and international issues and developments of common interest, especially developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The session was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transportation, and a number of senior officials. On the Congolese side, it was attended by His Excellency Mr. Christophe Lutondola Abala, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a number of senior officials. On this occasion, His Highness the Emir hosted a luncheon in honor of His Excellency the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and his accompanying delegation. In a related context, His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani confirmed yesterday that he held discussions with His Excellency President Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, regarding ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, describing them as “fruitful.” His Highness the Emir said, in a post on his official account on the social media platform “ X”: “ Today I had fruitful discussions with the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, during which we reviewed strengthening our joint cooperation and ways to advance our bilateral relations to broader levels that explore the opportunities available in all areas.” sectors for the benefit of our people and our two friendly countries.”
His Excellency Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, left Doha yesterday afternoon, after a working visit to the country.
Upon his departure from Hamad International Airport, His Excellency and the accompanying delegation were bid farewell by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Ms. Valerie Lusamba Kabyya, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the country.
