Entries Reception Period Extended Till 16 May
Jury Including 60 Experts from 40 Country Shall Decide Winners

Doha, Qatar – May 2016 (WQ): Philip Sheppard, Secretary General of the International Public Relations Association “IPRA” announced that all individuals and agencies in the state of Qatar still have the opportunity to submit their entries to IPRA in order to participate in the Golden World Awards for Excellence (GWA), until 16 May 2016.
In a letter addressed to IPRA’s Board Member Mr. Jassim Fakhroo and representative of Asia and Middle east, Sheppard noted that all agencies and practitioners of PR may review the conditions of participation in this international award on IPRA website: www.ipra.org.
Philip Sheppard clarified that IPRA is now in its ninth week of GWA 2016 and open to receive late entries. “There are separate awards for agencies and in-house,” he said.
“Subscribers need not to be members of IPRA. They should only demonstrate quality and excellence. And the association, to date, has received a large number of entries in all categories. Thus, we are expecting to welcome a huge number of participants from Qatar, GCC and ME,” he added.
GWA
Mr. Jassim Fakhroo, highlighted the importance of participation of local agencies and individuals in this award which is considered the most recognizable international prize in the field of public relations. He referred to that the ward was launched in 1990, and it is an annual recognition of PR programmers of world class standards, and appraisal of their excellence.
“Each year, a jury of about 60 experienced PR professionals, from 40 countries, judges the entries and nominates the best for a short-list. In a next step, the final winners are selected on the basis of unique merit, relevance, concrete objectives, creative strategies and tactics, and demonstrable results,” he said.
The competition, held by IPRA, includes local, national, regional and international individuals and agencies, activating in the field of public relations, through old or fresh programs completed in the last 12 months.
Fakhroo clarified that the award includes thirty categories in different areas of public relations for agencies and individuals, such as: Business-to-business-Communication Research -Community Relations- Consumer PR – Corporate communications-Corporate responsibility- Digital Media Relations- Research Management- Event management- Environmental Excellence- Event management- Financial services & investor relations- Healthcare- Integration of tradition & new media -Internal communications- International PR campaign- Launch of a new product- Launch of a new services- Media relations- NGO campaign- Online Crisis Communications- PR on a shoestring-Public affairs- Public sector- Publications- Reputation & Brand Management Online- Social Media for PR- Sponsorship- Technology- Travel & tourism.
