With the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after 50 days, fans are waiting for the events that will also be held outside the World Cup stadiums within the new FIFA Fan Festival.

On the occasion of the 50th day of the World Cup, Miad Al-Emadi, project manager of the FIFA Fan Festival, spoke in a telephone interview with Qatar TV about the new experience of the festival, which will start on November 19, a day before the whistle of the opening match of the tournament, to include entertainment areas and musical performances more than previous versions. To be repeated in the next tournaments, noting that entry to the festival will be free.

She pointed out that the FIFA Fan Festival will be in Al Bidda Park along the Corniche, which is complementary to other events in the Corniche and West Bay areas.

She explained that the festival can accommodate 40,000 spectators and begins and ends with the tournament, pointing out that the official opening will be November 19, a day before the World Cup, and the events will be 3 hours before the start of the match and end at 2 am.

She said that a fan tournament will be held on the sidelines of the FIFA Festival, with the participation of 32 countries participating in the tournament, and the competitions will be according to the matches of the daily schedule of tournament matches.

And last September 7, the International Football Association “FIFA” announced a new start for the fan festival during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, to represent a unique destination that hosts various entertainment events for the public.

The festival hosted by Al Bidda Park includes 5 activities:

– Live broadcast of all tournament matches on huge outdoor screens.

– Shows of the best international music works, and live performances by some of the most famous artists from Qatar and the world.

– Food corner with unique culinary experiences serving local and international cuisine.

– Matches with the participation of FIFA legends, and interactive platforms for fans.

– Innovative entertainment from tournament sponsors, and the FIFA Store for 2022 World Cup branded products.

Festival opening hours:

Group stage matches (20-28 November) | 10:00 – 02:00​

Group stage matches (November 29 – December 2) | 15:00 – 02:00​

– The quarter-finals, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the third-place match (3-18 December) | 15:00 – 02:00​

Rest Days (December 7, 8, 11, 12, 15 and 16) | 17:00 – 02:00​

Transport

– Metro: Al Bidda Park can be reached via the Doha Metro using the Red and Green Lines.

– Getting to the site: The Corniche station (red line) is the closest metro station to the site, Al-Bidaa station (red and green line) and Al-Qasr Al-Abyad station (green line) are other options available to fans.

– Departure of the site: Audiences will be directed north to West Bay metro station (red line), or south to Al-Bida metro station (red and green lines). The Corniche metro station will not be available to leave the FIFA Fan Fest site.

Bus services: will be available between West Bay and Souq Waqif. Shuttle bus service will be available between fan accommodation locations on B-Ring Road, C-Ring Road and the FIFA Fan Fest.

– Bus service starts between 8 am and ends at 2 am.

Tournament Bus Service: You can take a bus that takes you directly to the stadiums from the FIFA Fan Fest Express Bus Service Pool Center.

The bus service starts 4 hours before the start of the match and ends 90 minutes after the final whistle.

Taxis and carpooling: at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
