Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan revealed the details of his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the sidelines of the opening of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Turkish president said – in statements, according to Anadolu Agency – that he learned from the news that his Egyptian counterpart was “very happy” after their meeting in Qatar, and stated that the path of normalization between Turkey and Egypt will continue in the coming period at the ministerial level.

He explained that he told the Egyptian president that what Ankara wants is to end the existing dispute and that there should be no problem between the two countries in the Mediterranean.

And he indicated that he learned, in the context of the information and news he received later, that Al-Sisi is very happy from the meeting, and that he, in turn, expressed his happiness as well.

And he added, “The path has now begun (to normalize relations), and it will continue with our ministers.”

He stressed the importance of the ties between Turkey and the Egyptian people in the Mediterranean, stressing that “there should be no room left in this regard.”

“So I think there will be good developments,” he added.

On the other hand, Erdogan indicated that “resolving the differences between Turkey and the Gulf states spoiled the conspiracies that were being hatched.”

He stressed that “relations between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates have become in a very good position, and this is disturbing to some parties.”
