Fake money racket busted, three including woman held
Doha – THE Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has foiled an attempt to circulate fake GCC currency worth Dirham 35000 by a gang in Qatar and arrested three persons of Asian origin including a woman in this connection.
According to a Ministry of Interior press release on Tuesday, the Economic Crime Prevention Section at Criminal Investigation Department received a tip-off from its sources that a lady in GCC dress was circulating fake currency notes of Dirhams 500 in commercial shops.
The CID investigated the matter and found out several complaints regarding the issue. Further investigations revealed that a gang of three persons including a woman was behind the crime.
