Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday to hold deliberations on the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, with the participation of the full cabinet, and not the current war cabinet.
The current inner cabinet includes Netanyahu, Galant, Minister Ron Dermer, and MK Aryeh Deri.
Israeli Channel 12 quoted Galant as saying that “the deliberations on the deal are of broad national importance, and go beyond the issue of the conditions for the return of the hostages, and extend to the possibility of slipping into a regional war.”
He added: “Israel stands at a strategic crossroads.. If there is no agreement, there is an increasing risk of military escalation, which will ultimately lead to an unstoppable regional war, including Hezbollah and Iran.”
