When you’re George Clooney, even the priciest L.A. mansions just won’t do.
The movie star, 53, and his new bride, 36-year-old Amal Alamuddin, have purchased the Mill House, a 17th-century British estate located about 40 miles outside London in the village of Sonning on a four-acre island on the River Thames. The couple closed on the property — roughly an hour from the estate filmed for TV’s Downton Abbey — just nine days after their wedding, according to theNew York Daily News, and spent their honeymoon there.
