His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received yesterday, in his office at Lusail Palace, His Excellency Mr. Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the friendly United States of America, who is currently visiting the country.
During the interview, the strategic relations between the two friendly countries were reviewed, and the prospects for strengthening and developing them in various fields, in addition to discussing regional and international developments, especially developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories . During the interview, His Highness the Emir stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire, protect civilians, and continue the entry of humanitarian aid in an adequate and sustainable manner into all areas of the Gaza Strip. For his part, the US Secretary of State expressed his country’s appreciation to His Highness the Emir for the ongoing efforts of the State of Qatar aimed at resuming the exchange of detainees and prisoners in Gaza. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
