His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, and His Highness the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, toured this morning the ruling palace in the Emiri Diwan.

During the tour, Their Highnesses listened to an explanation about receiving and organizing visits at the Visitor Center in Msheireb, and a tour of the ruling palace in the Emiri Diwan, which aims to introduce the history of the Emiri Diwan, the march of the rulers of the State of Qatar and the urban characteristics of its palaces.

After that, their Highnesses were briefed on the stations in the palace and listened to an explanation about each station. Their Highnesses also visited the council of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani, which is one of the stations of the Palace of Government tour.

It is worth noting that the Qasr Al-Hakam tour, for which registration was opened through the official website of the Emiri Diwan today, includes 13 stations, during which the visitor learns about the rulers of the State of Qatar, the history of the Emiri Diwan, and its stages of development, starting with Al-Bida Castle, which was built three centuries ago. , passing through the era of transferring the seat of state rule to the Citadel, and reaching what became after that the Palace of Judgment and then the Doha Palace in the institution of governance, which is now known as the Emiri Diwan.

The tour also provides information about the areas and landmarks surrounding the Amiri Diwan, such as Al Bidda, the Sheikh Mosque, the Clock Tower, Souq Waqif and Al Jasra.

Information about the Palace of Government Visitor Center:

It is located in the Musheireb area, and it was officially opened to receive visitors.

– The center provides an opportunity to take a tour of the “Palace of Government” in the Emiri Diwan, with the aim of getting acquainted with the rulers of the State of Qatar, the history of the palace, its development in the past and present, and the main surrounding landmarks and areas.

It contains models of the stages of the development of the ruling palace at the Emiri Diwan, screens displaying a summary of the Diwan Palace, and a café for visitors, in addition to souvenirs.

The proceeds of the center will be donated to the Education Above All Foundation.

– The center is the place where visitors will gather after completing their registration procedures for the tours.

The tour starts from the Palace of Government Visitor Center in the Musheireb region, and from there the visitors are escorted to the Emiri Diwan, to complete the tour stops.

– Pre-registration for tours is done via a link on the website of the Amiri Diwan under the section “The Amiri Diwan / Tours and Visits” ( https://www.diwan.gov.qa ).

Registration for the tours starts today, while the first tours will start on Saturday morning, December 24, 2022.

Tours will be available from December 24, 2022 to April 2023.

After that, the tours will be on an annual basis, from October to May of each year.

The center can be visited during its official working days, which are as follows:

Saturday: from 8 am to 8 pm.

From Sunday to Thursday: from 10 am to 8 pm.

Friday: from 1 pm to 8 pm.

Palace of Government Tour:

– It starts from the Al-Shuyukh Mosque and continues to the Amiri Diwan.

– It will be organized on Saturday of each week, in the form of groups, and they will be accompanied, by specialized guides, on tours inside the palace.

The tour includes 13 stations, and starts from the Al-Shuyoukh Mosque in front of the entrance to the Amiri Diwan, the corridors of the palace and a number of its halls.

The tours give visitors the opportunity to learn about the rulers of the State of Qatar, the history of the Emiri Diwan, and the surrounding areas and landmarks, through a group of guides, with interactive screens and various presentation tools.

– The number of rounds per day ranges from 4 to 6 rounds.

– The number of visitors in one group will be between 8-12 visitors.

The tour is presented in Arabic or English.
