His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, received in his office at Lusail Palace yesterday evening, His Excellency Alexander De Croo, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium. During the interview, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various areas of cooperation were discussed, in addition to regional and international issues of common interest, especially developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a related context, His Excellency Alexander De Croo, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, confirmed that, during his reception yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, he appreciated the efforts made by the State of Qatar in the negotiations related to the ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip. He said: “We still hope that we will reach an agreement that guarantees the start of work towards calm before Eid al-Fitr, but the situation is very complicated on the ground.”
