His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a phone call yesterday from His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the call, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them were reviewed, in addition to discussing a number of issues and developments of common interest regionally and internationally, especially related to developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories and Israel.
During the call, His Highness the Emir stressed the importance of making efforts to reduce the escalation and spare civilians from the consequences of the fighting, opening safe corridors in Gaza for relief and humanitarian efforts, and ensuring that the violence does not expand regionally. His Highness also stressed the State of Qatar’s firm position on condemning the targeting of civilians, collective punishment policies and calls for the displacement of Palestinians.
