His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, greeted his brother, His Highness Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the sisterly State of Kuwait, upon his arrival with the accompanying delegation at the Emiri Lounge at Hamad International Airport yesterday, on a state visit to the country.
It was received by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the Deputy Emir, His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Force. Lekhwiya Internal Security, and His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan.
Also at the reception were His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, the UAE Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, and His Excellency Mr. Khalid bin Badr Al-Mutairi, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the state.
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also bid farewell to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the sisterly State of Kuwait, as he and the accompanying delegation left the Emiri Lounge at Hamad International Airport yesterday, after a state visit to the country. Farewell was attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the Deputy Emir, His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Force. Six aircraft from the Qatari Emiri Air Force accompanied the plane of His Highness the Emir of the sister State of Kuwait to Hamad International Airport to welcome the visit of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the sisterly State of Kuwait, which comes to strengthen the deep-rooted historical and fraternal relations that bind the two countries.
During the reception ceremony, 18 artillery shots were fired to welcome the Emir of Kuwait, and the number of shots commemorates the National Day that falls on December 18 of each year. The reception ceremony also included the firing of 9 shots symbolizing the number of bows in the flag of the State of Qatar, in addition to the performance of the “Ardha” and the phrase came out. “Torch of Glory is a Title” welcoming His Highness, in front of the Amiri Diwan, with a ceremony in which cavalry teams, including purebred horses and camels, which symbolize the Qatari environment and authentic national heritage, participated.
