His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Irfan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, held an official session of discussions at the Presidential Palace yesterday.
At the beginning of the session, His Excellency the President of the Guyana Cooperative Society welcomed His Highness the Emir and the accompanying delegation, wishing relations between the two countries further development and growth, and His Excellency looked forward to this visit contributing to consolidating cooperative relations between the two countries.
For his part, His Highness the Emir expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Guyana Cooperative Society for the invitation and warm reception, hoping that His Highness the visit would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and pushing them to broader horizons at all levels.
During the session, cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them were discussed, especially in the field of investment and energy, in addition to discussing a number of topics of common interest.
The discussions were attended by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Sharida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Trade and Industry, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a number of Your Excellencies, senior officials.
On the Guyana Co-operative side, it was attended by His Excellency Mr. Mark Phillips, Prime Minister, His Excellency Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Vice-President, His Excellency Dr. Ashni Singh, Senior Minister in the Office of the President and Responsible for Finance, His Excellency Mr. Vikram Bharat, Minister of Natural Resources, His Excellency Mr. Onidj Al-Walnoud, Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, and His Excellency Mr. Vikram Bharat, Minister of Natural Resources. Mr. George Andrew Hallaq, Assistant to the President and Personal Representative of His Excellency the President and Minister of Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and a number of Their Excellencies and senior officials.
His Highness the Emir and His Excellency the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana held a bilateral meeting prior to the discussions, in which they discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them.
