The Israeli army announced, on Sunday, the discovery of dozens of tunnel paths in the Philadelphia axis near the Egyptian border.
The army said in a statement, “Over the past few months, the forces of the 162nd Division and forces affiliated with the “Yahalom” unit (an engineering unit for special missions) have been working to find and destroy underground paths in the Philadelphia Axis area, where the forces have so far found and destroyed dozens of paths.”
He added that “early last week, during one of the operations that was conducted in search of underground paths in the Philadelphia axis, a tunnel was found that was three meters high.”
A photo published by the Israeli army showed a military vehicle emerging from the tunnel that was found at a height of 3 meters.
The army explained that at this stage, the tunnel that was found and other paths will be studied and neutralized, and all the infrastructure located underground on the Philadelphia axis will be destroyed.
