Jennie Öberg wins sprint gold
25-year-old Jennie Öberg won her first World Cup gold in the ladies freestyle sprint in Rybinsk in Russia on Saturday.
“It’s crazy. I don’t know what happened. The body felt great and the skis were perfect. I am so happy!” said a very pleased Öberg to Swedish Television, just after the race.
It is the first time she has even reached a World Cup final, and very nearly she had not made it there, as she fell in the quarter final race.
