Jordanian Minister of Labour Nidal Bataineh has praised the efforts of the State of Qatar to provide job opportunities for Jordanians, as well as the efforts exerted by both sides to speed up the implementation of the directives aimed at providing thousands of job opportunities for Jordan’s youth to enable them to contribute to the development witnessed in the country.
This came during a meeting yesterday between a delegation of Jordanian businessmen with Qatar Chamber officials to discuss mechanisms to implement the directives aimed at providing employment opportunities for Jordanian youth, and the two sides agreed on steps to develop the electronic platform dedicated to the employment of Jordanians in Qatar.
The Jordanian minister stressed that his country and the State of Qatar have a strong relationship in various fields, pointing out that his visit to Doha is aimed at strengthening these relations and consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries in the field of employment, pointing out that there is a great Jordanian desire to develop commercial and industrial co-operation relations between businessmen in the two countries.
He pointed out that the two parties are co-ordinating jointly to facilitate communication between the concerned authorities and private sector companies, and Jordanians wishing to work in the State of Qatar, noting that there is a tendency to appoint a labour counsellor at the Jordanian Embassy in Doha, in an effort to facilitate and follow up the conditions of Jordanian workers.
Qatar Chamber first vice chairman Mohamed bin Twar al-Kuwari said that the private sector in the two countries have cooperative relations based on mutual interest.
Al-Kuwari said that Qatar is currently witnessing a large number of development projects, infrastructure and others, and that the Qatari private sector plays a large role in the implementation of those projects, pointing to the need for trained and qualified labour in all industrial, service and health sectors.
He noted that the Qatari private sector welcomes the employment of Jordanians in Qatar and expresses great interest in the Qatari-Jordanian employment platform, where the Qatari companies have shown great responsiveness in giving priority to Jordanians when hiring for available jobs, especially as Jordanians are characterised by a high level of expertise and skills.
