Jules Bianchi dead: Jenson Button, Max Chilton and Bruno Senna lead tributes to late F1 driver as motorsport world mourns loss of rising star
The world of motorsport is in mourning after the sad news came this morning to confirm Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi had died at the age of 25.
Bianchi suffered severe head injuries in a horror crash at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix in October, leaving him in a coma and the world in shock after he collided with a recovery vehicle tending to an earlier accident.
The news of his death comes after his father, Philippe, admitted that the family were beginning to lose hope, and an outpouring of emotion on social media has demonstrated just how big a tragedy his passing is.
Bianchi was singled out as a star in the making, having already scored his first points for the Marussia team – now Manor F1 – on the famous streets of Monaco. He was also involved with Ferrari’s Young Driver Academy and a future drive with the Italian manufacturer had already been rumoured.
