Yesterday, Their Excellencies the Arab Ministers of Social Development and Family and the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States signed the “Doha Pledge for the Solid Arab Family,” which comes as an extension of the efforts of the State of Qatar to consolidate the principles and identity of the Arab family and protect it from risks that threaten its unity and cohesion.

The signing of the pledge, right “The Doha Pledge on Promoting Integrated Social Protection and Consolidating Arab Principles and Customs Related to the Established Arab Family,” came as part of the work of the second day of the High-Level Arab Forum for Multidimensional Social Development, which resumed its work yesterday.

Among the most prominent aspects of the pledge is adherence to Arab principles and customs related to the family and natural social relations and not harming them, and confronting abnormal trends and attempts aimed at changing natural human principles and customs, and turning to behaviors that are dangerous and abnormal to the institutions of the family and marriage.

The pledge also included “developing plans and programs aimed at strengthening the fabric of the Arab family, preserving the institution of marriage, and eliminating unacceptable interventions that constitute behavioral human diseases and threaten human society as a whole.”

The ministers also pledged to continue efforts to develop societies, and to reconsider the transition from the individual style in favor of the social style represented by the family, to constitute a guarantee against the threats of its deviation to remain on the right path that strengthens the established nuclear family role in the social fabric.

Among the items included in the pledge is the strengthening of collective patterns in a way that contributes to expanding the circle of efforts that do not surrender to the trend of individualism and sweeping fluid values, and in a way that contributes to creating rapprochement and integration of Regional agreements that enhance the practice of the natural family that is ethically and innately rooted, and repel all attempts to threaten our Arab societies and our future generations, including It can prevent it from deviating and return it to the essence of the family institution.

It was also emphasized that this pledge is a reflection of the unified Arab regional position, based on the directions of Arab leaders in many Arab summit decisions, as well as decisions of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers, the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, and the relevant Arab and international decisions, which reaffirms adherence to The Arab countries recognize the essence of the family and its normal nature, and reject any abnormal classifications that are inconsistent with human nature and what the heavenly religions have prescribed, with an emphasis on the Arab countries’ adherence and pride to their values ​​and morals, and the necessity of respecting Arab principles, culture and customs.

The ministers also pledged to maintain a strong, cohesive family, committed to religious and moral values, and to raise children to love the homeland and serve society, so that they become contributors to its renaissance and progress, preserving its unity and solidarity, based on the fact that the family is the foundation of society, based on religion, morals, and love of the homeland. The pledge confirmed that this signing comes in Arab support for the Qatari efforts represented by the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, which last Monday launched the Family Charter in Qatar. This pledge comes as a complement to those efforts and their charter, and serves as a road map for Arab countries to adopt a common sense approach to the family and support its unity and coexistence on the principle of tolerance. Kindness and mercy.

It is noteworthy that the High-Level Arab Forum for Multidimensional Social Development, which concludes later today, discusses a number of important files that represent a priority for joint Arab social development work, most notably the Second Arab Decade for Persons with Disabilities 2023-2032, and the file of the Second Arab Report on Poverty. Multidimensional, in addition to highlighting sustainable solutions to improve the quality of life of Arab individuals and communities.
