The second edition of the Qatar Achievements on Vocational Safety book will be launched in April 2020 under the patronage of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) and in celebration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
The event will be attended by ministers, businessmen and decision-makers from leading local and international companies, the organisers have said in a statement.
The announcement was made by Sogha advertising and event management and conferences in a statement yesterday.
During the ceremony, Excellence Awards will be delivered to local companies that are committed to implementing the best occupational safety standards and requirements, as an appreciation for and incentive to further enhance their performance in this field, the statement notes.
In addition, a dedicated award for safety will be given for the best company performance in the area of safety among small and medium enterprises, the real estate sector, oil and gas as well as in the retail and health sectors.
The MME is supporting the occupational safety aspect in various corporate sectors and increasing awareness among the labour force in terms of safety precautions and regulations to avoid on-site accidents.
The ministry has confirmed its implementation of a variety of programmes and training workshops in the field of safety, security and health in co-operation with different governmental entities to insure a high level of awareness and commitment to the rules pertaining to safety regulations and operational risks on sites, as well as unexpected accidents along with first-aid awareness.
In addition, the ministry has affirmed that Qatar has a great record in all aspects related to health, safety and environmental sustainability. This will ensure the best work environment for all residents and citizens and cultivate a culture of healthy living.
The MME will not spare any efforts to provide the community with the best levels of safety and A healthy life, which will positively affect the standard of living in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, the statement adds.
Khalifa al-Muhannadi, chairman of Sogha advertising, stressed that the launch of the book is a great opportunity to showcase the vision of Qatar in upholding labour laws and protecting the working environment, and to highlight labour rights in terms of enjoying a safe working environment and a good standard of living.
The first edition of the book received great exposure among all stakeholders and strong support among various corporate bodies.
