Municipality ran quality inspections at more than 3,000 outlets
Doha Municipality inspectors carried out 2,146 surprise quality control checks on 3,401 retail food shops including restaurants and cafeterias in the month of July, officials announced here yesterday.
Municipal inspectors booked 75 shops for violating health and quality standards stipulated by the municipality and destroyed 426.972 tonnes of food stuff deemed unfit for human consumption.
Health officials made 402 inspections during the last week of July and found 43 outlets violating quality standards and destroyed 236.583 tonnes of food deemed unfit for human consumption.
