The much awaited shopping mall, the Mall of Qatar has finally been thrown open to public. The 500, 000 square meter mall welcomed hundreds of visitors on its opening day who had come to get a first-hand taste of the offerings the new mall is showcasing.

The mall remains open 10 am to 11 pm from Saturday to Wednesday and from 10am to midnight on Thursdays and Fridays, the Mall would be home to more than 400 shops including most of the world’s well-known brands, a five-star hotel and over 100 food and beverage outlets. The mall would contain a dedicated Family Entertainment Centre spread over 16500 square meters featuring entertainment avenues such as KidzMondo and Xtremeland.

Located in the Al Rayyan area and close to the Education City and the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) the Mall of Qatar will be the largest mall in the country with 195, 000 square metres of space meant for lease. With all the road and rail connections in close vicinity of the mall, it will only be 20 minutes away from the City centre, in fact one of the stations of the Doha Metro will be located within the mall itself.

The Cineplex of the mall will constitute a total of 19 screens including 6 VIP theatres featuring the world’s largest IMAX 3D laser tech.

The Mall would also feature Mall of Qatar and Landmark Group’s joint brand store. The store will be showcasing 19 of its primary brands, which include Centrepoint, Max Fashion, Iconic, Reiss, New Look, Koton, Steve Madden, Carpisa, Ecco, Kurt Geiger, Pablosky, Emax, Candelite, Shoexpress, the group’s newest home-grown brand, SportsOne, as well as a new fashion brand in Qatar Lipsy. Additionally, Zafran, Carluccios and GRK-Fresh Greek of the casual and fast casual dining niche would also be introduced by the store.

The Mall of Qatar has a very robust and diverse food court, which is spread over the central atrium that is decorated with multi-coloured fountains. The mall features Qatar’s very first Cheesecake Factory, Eataly, Carluccio’s and Shakespeare & Co. Other eating places in the MOQ include Baskin Robbins, Bread and Bagels, and Fatburger among others.

If you are considering visiting this latest retail heavy weight of the country the best thing to do is use underground parking lot. Using the underground parking you would later be able to exit the mall via the 1.5km-long tunnel, the tunnel was opened on Friday to help funnel traffic out of the mall and onto the Dukhan Highway. The tunnel is a part of the Al Jahhaniya Interchange, which also provides access to the Emiri Guard, Al Rayyan Stadium, Al Rufaa Celebration Hall Complex and Al Rayyan Metro station.
