HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani has approved changing the land use at the Marina and Energy City in Lusail, from administrative to mixed residential and administrative use, in accordance with the conditions and controls set by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, the official Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported yesterday.
The decision “reinforces the government’s orientation in supporting investment and comes as a continuation of previous decisions of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in providing the right climate for investment and supporting investors in Qatar”, QNA said.
Qatari Diar CEO Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah said the decision of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior comes within the framework of the support and attention from the government to the country’s investment climate.
The decision will have a major impact in terms of supporting and attracting investment to Lusail City, al-Attiyah said, explaining that it allows owners and investors to diversify investments and increase returns on capital, especially as Lusail City is one of the areas covered by the freehold decision for non-Qataris, pursuant to the Council of Ministers’ decision to identify areas and places where non-Qatari ownership and use of real estate is permitted in accordance with Law No 16 of 2018 on the regulation of non-Qatari real estate ownership and use, the report adds.
