His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held an official discussion session at the Amiri Diwan yesterday with His Excellency President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of the friendly Federal Republic of Brazil.
During the session, aspects of developing joint cooperation between the two countries were discussed, especially in the fields of energy, economy and investment, in addition to exchanging views on the most prominent regional and international issues, especially developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, where the two sides stressed the importance of reaching a permanent ceasefire. Protecting civilians, delivering humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, and finding a solution to the Palestinian issue that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The session was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance, His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a number of Their Excellencies senior officials. .
On the Brazilian side, it was attended by His Excellency Mr. Rodrigo Pacheco, President of the Senate, His Excellency Mr. Rui Costa, Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Fernando Haddad, Minister of Finance, His Excellency Mr. Silvio Costa Filho, Minister of Ports and Airports, His Excellency Mr. Carlos Favaro, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, and His Excellency Mr. Alexandre Silveira.
