Qatar economy grows 4.1% in first quarter of 2015
Doha – Qatar’s economy grew by 4.1 percent during the first quarter of this year as compared with the same quarter last year. It achieved a growth of about 3.4 percent as compared with the fourth quarter of last year, official figures showed.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices amounted to QR199.21 billion in the first quarter of 2015 as compared with QR191.31 billion during the same period last year, recording a growth of 4.1 percent, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) said in a report.
The data shows that the GDP estimates at current prices amounted to QR173.03 billion in the first quarter of this year, down by about 14 percent compared with estimates of the corresponding period last year.
