Qatar inks 8 more deals worth QR1.29 bn as DIMDEX ends

Qatar signed eight defence deals worth QR1.29 billion on the concluding day of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2016) at Qatar National Convention Centre on Thursday.

The Qatar Emiri Naval Forces and Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) singed an MoU worth 42 million euros for the purchase of a diving support vessel.

A 41 million euro MoU was also signed by the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces and YONCA-ONUK of Turkey for the purchase of military power boats with motor interceptor.

The Qatar Emiri Naval Forces and the European company Zodiac signed a QR68 million MoU for the purchase of intrusion boats.

An MoU for a remote sensing station project worth QR200 million was also signed between the Technical Affairs Authority and French company Airbus.

A QR35 million MoU was signed by the Security Committee of the Armed Forces Camps and Korean company A & K Partner on mobile radars.

A QR460.5 million MoU was signed by the Qatar Armed Forces and US company Aurora for drone sensor integration.

The Qatar Armed Forces and the US company L-3 WESCAM singed a QR127 million agreement for MX20D and M25 drone cameras.

The Steering Committee of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and US company Textron Systems signed a QR55 million MoU for the purchase of Aerosonde MK 4.7 drones.
