Qatar maul Maldives 4-0
Qatar maintained their 100 percent record in Group C of the Asian FIFA World Cup 2018/AFC Asian Cup 2019 joint-qualifiers with a thumping 4-0 win over Maldives at the Al Sadd Stadium on Tuesday.
The win takes Qatar’s points haul to 15 – five points clear of their nearest rival Hong Kong, who defeated Bhutan away from home.
Maldives, meanwhile, are now second from bottom at the foot of the five-team table having earned just three points from five matches.
Qatar’s Boualem Khoukhi scored a goal in each half while Mohammed Kasola and Muhammed Musa completed the rout. The match lived up to its David-Goliath billing as Qatar dominated the game from start to finish.
