The Qatar Red Crescent Society announced that there are efforts made by the State of Qatar to participate in the reconstruction of the earthquake-affected areas in Turkey and Syria.

The Director of the Relief and International Development Sector at the Qatar Red Crescent Society, Mohamed Salah, said that they are seeking, through their partnership with the Qatar Fund for Development and other associations, to contribute to the reconstruction of the earthquake areas in Turkey.

In an interview with Anadolu Agency, Salah stressed the need for concerted efforts by the international community to mitigate the effects of the earthquake that occurred in Turkey and northern Syria, so that life can return to normal.

He explained that the association “approved one million dollars as urgent relief, and we launched a campaign to collect 20 million dollars, and we have already provided it, and we will continue because the need is very great.”

He pointed out that “reconstruction is the basis after the situation stabilizes, whether in northern Syria or Turkey, and we will strive with all our partners to have a real contribution to reduce the scale of the disaster.”
