The State of Qatar welcomed the agreement signed in Istanbul between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, under the auspices of the United Nations and the Republic of Turkey, to resume grain exports, and considered it an important step in the right direction to address the food shortage crisis in the world.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s full appreciation for the efforts of the United Nations and the Republic of Turkey and their role in reaching this agreement, and expressed its hope that this step would pave the way for a peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
