Doha: Qatari students achieved advanced results at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) held in Arizona, US, from May 12 to yesterday.

The student, Ajlan Mohammed Al Kaabi, from the Omar bin Al Khattab Secondary School for Boys, won the third place in the field of engineering for his research project on the addition of sensors to preserve the environment in the factories. The research also drew recognition from Nasa agency.

Also Jassim bin Hamad Secondary School for Boys won the fourth place in the world in Biomedical Sciences through the research project presented by students Abdul Hadi Jaber Al Jalab and Harith Nashaat.

The Qatar Academy won a special award from Oracle Corporation in the computing and communication systems category through students Khadija Ahmed and Sama Nabil. These results are a continuation of the achievements of Qatar’s students and schools of excellence in various competitions and international competitions. Qatar recently won four gold and two silver medals at the International Invention and Innovation Exhibition (ITEX) in Malaysia.
