Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani led well-wishers to welcome the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, who arrived in Qatar today on a two-day official visit.
The Emir and Saudi King arrived at Emiri Diwan and Emir received the delegation from Saudi Arabia who accompanied the King.
Many people lined up on the roads leading to the Emiri Diwan carrying Qatar and Saudi flags to welcome the King.
The King was accorded a special welcome with guards on horses and camels rode with the motorcade along Corniche.
Emir and the King together watched children singing traditional songs and perform traditional dance.
Qatar TV broadcasted the event live.
There was also ceremonial canon firing to welcome King Salman to Qatar
The Emir and King Salman will discuss means of enhancing the well-established fraternal relations and the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.
