DOHA: The Suakin Port in east Sudanese state of Red Sea has received a number of cranes and tow vessels , which were sent from Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar), in implementation of the first phase of the memorandum of understanding signed by the company with the Port of Sudan for developing the Port of Suakin on the Red Sea, making it a key seaport for cargo transportation.
On this occasion, Qatars Ambassador to Sudan Rashid Bin Abdul Rahman Al Nuiami emphasized the depth of Qatari-Sudanese bilateral relation, which were established by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir’s, pointing out that cranes and tow vessels are part of the capital of the development of the port of Suakin.
He said that the Suakin port has preferential advantages and it supports exports significantly, especially for the economies of the African region, explaining its importance and its strategic location, and the passage of the Silk Road through it, makes it a very important meeting point for export, especially for the neighboring countries, which makes it a port of added value to the economy.
