Qatar Foreign Merchandise Trade Surplus was QR 14.9 Billion in June, 2015

Doha, July 27 (QNA) – The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics has released preliminary figures of the value of exports of domestic goods, re-exports, and imports for June 2015. A short analysis of the data is given below: In May 2015, the total exports of goods (including exports of goods of domestic origin and re-exports) amounted to QR 24.1 billion, showing a decrease of 40.4% compared to June 2014. However, the total exports of goods decreased by 2.9% compared to May 2015.

On the other hand, the imports of goods in June 2015 amounted to QR 9.2 billion, showing an increase of 1.6% over June 2014 and a decrease of 3.6% compared to May 2015.

The data showed a decrease in total exports was mainly due to lower exports of Petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons (LNG, condensates, propane, butane, etc.) showing in June 2015, i.e. a decrease of 44.6 %. Exports of petroleum oils & oils from bituminous minerals (crude) dropped to QR 3.2 billion (44.6%), and Petroleum oils & oils from bituminous minerals (not crude) decreased to QR 1.3 billion (46.6%).
