Turkey reports 23 Kurdish militants killed in southeastern towns

Turkey’s state-run news agency has announced that a military operation has resulted in the deaths of 23 insurgents. Turkey’s prime minister has vowed to intensify operations against Kurdish militants.

Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency reported that a total of 23 Kurdish rebel fighters had been killed near the Syrian and Iraqi borders over the past two days during security operations in the southeast of the country. Anadolu said the insurgents were associated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Pro-Kurdish media reported on Wednesday that an 11-year-old boy had also been killed during the operation, which could not be independently verified.
