Unstable weather conditions are expected to continue in the country with rain and thunder hitting Qatar throughout the weekend, according to a report by the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).
The temperature too is likely to drop across Qatar from Saturday until next Monday, it is learnt.
On Tuesday, rain hit different parts of the country, while Doha reported moderate to heavy showers towards the evening.
The QMD held that cloudy skies and hazy to misty conditions will continue and there are chances of intermittent scattered rain, light to moderate in intensity. The rain may become thundery at times, especially during the evening and night, due to “short-lived convective clouds”, the weather office explained, as reported by Gulf Times.
In fact, the unstable weather is set to intensify from Thursday evening, until Friday, while chances are high of the rainfall to increase over most areas.
Northeasterly to southerly winds are likely during the thundershowers too, as reported by the QMD.
Moreover, a Siberian high-pressure system is expected to affect the country from the early morning of Saturday.
QMD predicts thundershowers over some parts of the country today, along with strong winds and low visibility.
The offshore areas would experience windy conditions, high seas and thundery rain, according to the weather report.
Furthermore, in the inshore areas, wind speed may go up to 25 knots and 30 knots offshore during thunder and rain.
Cloudy conditions will prevail in the country and the rain will generally be scattered in both inshore and offshore areas, becoming thundery at times.
