US President Donald Trump told Fox News on March 9 that Ukraine “may not survive” Russia’s invasion with or without American support. Trump’s remark came in response to a question by Fox News on a statement by the Polish president who had said that Ukraine would not survive without US help.
The Trump administration has faced scrutiny for its decision to stop providing critical military aid and intelligence to Kyiv amid the war with Moscow. The decision to halt aid and intelligence sharing came immediately after the collapse of a natural resources deal between the US and Ukraine. In the same interview with Fox News, Trump once again accused the Ukrainian president of being ungrateful for US military aid.
“(Zelensky) took money out of this country under [former president Joe] Biden like candy from a baby,” Trump claimed.” It was so easy. With that same attitude. I just don’t think he’s grateful,” the US president added.
