Zelinsky: Qatar is a partner in implementing peace… and we thank it for its responsible stance

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine expressed thanks to the State of Qatar for its “responsible stance”, praising Doha’s efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, following a visit by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Zelensky said – according to a video broadcast by “Al-Jazeera” channel – that he held a meeting with His Excellency the Prime Minister in Kiev, and the discussions were very fruitful.

“The most important thing is that Qatar will be with us in implementing the peace formula,” the Ukrainian president added. “As we discussed the status of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, it is very important that there are no shortages and crises in the global food market.”
On the other hand, the President of Ukraine said – on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter) – that the visit of His Excellency the Prime Minister to Kiev is “an important embodiment of Qatar’s support and solidarity with our country,” as he put it.
He added that he had a “meaningful meeting” with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman, and that “more steps to ensure global food security and the continuation of the safe work of the grain corridor and the peace formula were discussed.”
He also pointed out that the meeting also witnessed a “discussion of the Ukrainian recovery plan and Qatari investments” in his country.
