US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said something extraordinary a few moments ago. He told a reporter that countries who had reacted angrily to Donald Trump’s Gaza plan should come forward and rebuild Gaza themselves. This comes a day after White House spokesperson contradicted Trump saying that the plan was to move Palestinians out for a short term and the US president had not made any commitment on the involvement of American troops in the ground.
Rifat Jawaid says that Rubio’s latest comment is a huge climb down on the original announcement by Trump.
