Al Ahli defeated Al Rayyan 3-2 for their fifth straight victory
Congolese striker Firmin Mubele scored a brace as Al Ahli defeated Al Rayyan 3-2 for their fifth straight victory as the curtains were drawn on the 2015-16 Qatar Stars League (QSL) season.
For Rayyan, who already have the league title in their kitty, it was the fifth game without a win.
The win moved Ahli to sixth place with 37 points after 26 matches. It was another disappointing outing for champions Rayyan as poor defending and complacency resulted in the Lions third defeat in five matches.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Al Sailiya defeated 10-man Al Arabi 2-1 to end the season on a good note. The result moved the Peregrines to 36 points and helped them leapfrogged the Dream Team in the final league table.
