Arab and international media outlets were interested in the comprehensive speech of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the country, which he delivered during the opening session of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was held in New York the day before yesterday.
The speech of His Highness the Emir of the country was met with great resonance and welcome in the Palestinian street, which is following the tireless Qatari efforts made to stop the Israeli aggression against it.
In this context, a report by the Turkish TRT Arabic TV highlighted the call of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the country, to stop the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon, stressing in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly that “Qatar will continue to make efforts until a new ceasefire agreement is reached in Gaza.”
For its part, the Turkish News Agency ( TR ) said in a report that His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, called during his speech before the United Nations General Assembly to stop the aggression on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon, noting in its report, which bore the title “The Emir of Qatar addresses the world before the United Nations: Stop the aggression on Gaza, stop the war on Lebanon,” that the most prominent thing in His Highness the Emir’s speech was that he considered that “the aggression that the Palestinian people in Gaza are being subjected to is the most barbaric and ferocious.”
She continued by saying: “The Emir of the State of Qatar stressed that the failure to intervene to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza is a major scandal,” noting that His Highness had stressed that “there are those who are tempted by the possibility of marginalizing the Palestinian cause, but the Palestinian cause is resistant to marginalization,” and he believed that “the Palestinian cause will not disappear except in two cases: the disappearance of the occupation or the disappearance of the Palestinian people.”
As for the Turkish Anadolu Agency, it said in a report: “Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad said in the speech he delivered before the United Nations that his country’s mediation to cease fire in Gaza is continuing despite the Israeli accusations.”
Anadolu added: “The Emir of Qatar confirmed that Ismail Haniyeh was not only the political leader of Hamas, but also the first elected Palestinian Prime Minister… calling for an end to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.”
The agency noted the reaction of His Highness the Emir of the country to the explosions of wireless communication devices in Lebanon, and quoted him as saying, “In addition to committing a major crime by booby-trapping wireless communication devices and blowing them up with thousands of people in one moment without taking their identity or location into consideration, Israel is currently waging a war on Lebanon, and no one knows to what extent this war could deteriorate.”
She also pointed out His Highness’s description of the Israeli war on Gaza as “a crime of genocide using the most modern weapons against a people besieged in a concentration camp with no escape from the barrage of bombs dropped by planes.”
The Italian media reported with interest what was stated in His Highness’ speech.
Cairo and Nile TV broadcast the entire speech live.
The agency quoted His Highness the Emir as stressing “continuing efforts with partners until reaching a permanent ceasefire in the Strip, releasing prisoners and detainees, and moving towards a just solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and the Palestinian people obtaining all their legitimate rights, foremost of which is their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders.”
In turn, the French newspaper ” Le Parisien ” said : His Highness the Emir considered during his speech that “the blatant Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is the most barbaric, hideous and widespread aggression, and a violation of human values, international charters and rights.”
The newspaper pointed out that His Highness concluded by saying: “This is not a war that respects the concept of war, but rather a crime of genocide.”
In the same context, the Saudi newspaper “ Arabnews ” reported that His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, described, from the podium of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the war waged by Israel on the Gaza Strip as a “crime of genocide.”

Under the title “Emir of Qatar: What is happening in Gaza is a crime of genocide.. and we will continue our efforts until a ceasefire is reached,” the Asharq News website reported excerpts from His Highness’s speech, including his statement that “what the Palestinian people are being subjected to in terms of blatant aggression is the most barbaric and hideous and the most in violation of human values, international covenants and norms,” and his emphasis that “there is no Israeli partner for peace during the current government’s term.”
Al Sharq website also noted that His Highness expressed his support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and stressed the continuation of mediation efforts until a ceasefire is reached in Gaza.
The Italian media paid significant attention to His Highness’s speech, led by the Italian news agency ANSA , the newspaper Fatto Quotidiano , the newspaper Giornale di Brescia and the website of Espansione TV , which all reported what was stated in the speech, noting His Highness’s statement: “The blatant aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is the most barbaric and hideous aggression and the most violation of human values and international charters and norms,” stressing that “this conflict does not respect the concept of war but is a crime of genocide.”
The Egyptian Cairo News and Nile News TV channels broadcast His Highness’ speech at the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly in full live.
In an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), two political analysts praised His Highness’s comprehensive speech, stressing that His Highness’ speech came at an important and sensitive time, was comprehensive, and expressed what is happening in the Palestinian reality.
In this context, political analyst Dr. Fayez Abu Shamala said: The Emir of the State of Qatar was accurate in describing the Palestinian situation, and he reflected the Palestinian reality in his speech, and he held the international community responsible, and he directly condemned the occupation, and he held it responsible for the destruction and devastation that befell Gaza.
Abu Shamala explained that His Highness’s speech represented what is going on in the conscience of the Palestinian people who want to stop the aggression, but at the same time not give up their rights.
For his part, Professor of Strategic Studies Dr. Ibrahim Habib saw that His Highness the Emir’s speech focused on the necessity of a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, and clearly highlighted that there is no real Israeli peace partner, contrary to what the United States of America was saying, and what Israel claims that there is no Palestinian partner for peace.
