His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the regular meeting held by the Council this afternoon at its headquarters in the Emiri Diwan.
After the meeting, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, said the following:
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council of Ministers raised its highest congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, “may God protect him”, on the occasion of the approaching advent of The blessed Eid Al-Adha, asking God Almighty to bring it back to His Highness with good health and happiness, and to our dear country and its honorable people and residents with more goodness, prosperity and development under the wise leadership of His Highness, and the Arab and Islamic nations with security, peace and stability.
Then the Council of Ministers reviewed the report of the Ministry of Public Health on the latest developments related to the Corona virus (Covid-19), and decided to amend its decision issued at its regular meeting (19) for the year 2022 held on May 18 2022, by obligating citizens, residents and visitors to wear masks in public. Closed public places, provided that this decision will be implemented as of Thursday, 7/7 2022.
After that, the Council of Ministers considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
First – Approval of the following two bills, and their referral to the Shura Council:
a – A draft law on the regulation of real estate registration.
B – A draft law on documentation.
Second – Approval in principle of the proposal of His Excellency the President of Qatar for Tourism to amend some provisions of:
– Law No. (20) of 2018 regarding the regulation of tourism.
Law No. 21 of 2018 regulating business events.
– Emiri Resolution No. (15) of 2021 regarding the establishment of Qatar Tourism.
Third – Approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Commerce and Industry to amend some provisions of Resolution No. (161) of 2017 regarding the general and special requirements that must be met in similar commercial, industrial and public stores.
Fourth – Approval of a draft agreement on mutual exemption from entry visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special, official and ordinary passports between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of Mongolia.
Fifth – Approving the draft of the first executive program for the agreement on cooperation in the cultural field between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Peru for the years (2022, 2023, 2024).
Sixth – The Cabinet reviewed the following two issues and took the appropriate decision:
1- A memorandum by His Excellency the Minister of Municipality regarding the results of his visit to the United States of America during the month of May 2022 to develop aspects of cooperation between the two countries.
2- A memorandum by His Excellency the Minister of Environment and Climate Change regarding the results of the (24) meeting of the ministers responsible for environmental affairs in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (April 2022 – via video communication technology).
Seventh – Through the presentation by His Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education, the Cabinet reviewed a study on “institutional evaluation of the education system”. The study contained the objectives of the institutional evaluation project for the education system, including dividing it into three stages: the diagnosis stage, the design stage The stage of preparing the integrated plan and project completion. The study showed the results of the diagnosis stage and concluded a set of solutions at the student, school and ministry levels, and the necessary steps for implementation.
