The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has rubbished rumours that the ministry’s labour department would remain open on Thursday and Friday to process work visas and job transfer requests of illegal residents.
It may be noted that the rumour associated with an unidentified video showing crowds gathering in front of the ministry went viral on social media yesterday.
Moreover, rumour also has it that the Ministry of Interior has given ten days grace period for illegal residents to rectify their status and change employers.
MADLSA however has stated in its twitter account that all these developments were not true.
The ministry also clarified that change of job is possible for those employers who have completed their job contract, as per the new residency law.
