Billionaires giving…billions!
The ex-wife of billionaire entrepreneur Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie Scott has been on a donation spree including Habitat for Humanity and Planned Parenthood.

DonationsScott has given away over 8 billion dollars to over 400 different organizations since her divorce from Bezos leaving her with 4% of Amazon shares, or over 30 billion dollars.
She, along with billionaire Warren Buffett, have signed the Giving Pledge, pledging to give over half of their fortune away.
The latest donation has been a 436 million dollar donation to Habitat for Humanity, a charity that provides homes for the less fortunate.
According to Good News Network, “Funding also will be used to advance research and measurement efforts to identify best practices in areas such as preserving home affordability and housing innovation, and to explore how new and existing programs lead to better outcomes for individuals and families.”
84 affiliates of the Habitat for Humanity project will get the bulk of the money, while $25 million will go to securing a large portion of affordable housing.
Bezos Earth Fund
MacKenzie is not the only one donating, Jeff Bezos has recently stepped up as well.
Bezos has recently launched the Bezos Earth Fund (BEF) which, according to the BEF website, is, “The Bezos Earth Fund was created by a commitment of $10 billion from Jeff Bezos to be disbursed as grants within the current decade. We are committed to fighting climate change and protecting nature.”
The Fund commits to “target transformational system change” in regards to climate change and the Earth’s status.
The company has a strong outlook on the future with a large list of pledges to the viewers including, “We will monitor, assess results, and actively learn from successes and disappointments.”
