Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) appeared confused as she was being wheeled into the U.S. Capitol for her return to Congress this week.

After being absent from the Senate for more than two months due to ill health, Feinstein returned on Thursday in a wheelchair.

However, according to left-wing outlet The Huffington Post, the 89-year-old didn’t appear to be fit for work.

The outlet claims that as she was being wheeled into the Capitol, Feinstein was “trembling” and asking her handlers: “Where am I going?”

The Huffington Post reported:

“Where am I going?” she could be heard asking, as she slowly settled into the wheelchair.

Her hand was visibly trembling as she took her seat.

One of Feinstein’s eyes appeared to be closed over while the other was bloodshot.

“I’ve got something in my eye,” she said.

Feinstein says she had shingles and further complications causing her to miss a total of 93 votes in the Senate.

Her absence has led many, even within her own party, to call for her to step down.

Feinstein’s office has stated that she is experiencing vision and balance impairments.

However, it seems the situation is far worse than that if she’s also confused about where she is.

Democrats had put votes on hold for approving judicial nominees appointed by President Joe Biden until Feinstein was back.

Yesterday after she was wheeled into place, Democrats on the Judiciary Committee approved six Biden nominees, three of whom passed on a party-line vote.

A statement from Feinstein notes “Even though I’ve made significant progress and was able to return to Washington, I’m still experiencing some side effects from the shingles virus.

“My doctors have advised me to work a lighter schedule as I return to the Senate.

“I’m hopeful those issues will subside as I continue to recover.”
