The Diplomatic Institute (DI) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday celebrated the graduation of 24 diplomats.
Addressing the new graduates, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary-General HE Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi stressed the importance of Qatari diplomats highlighting the character of their homeland and maintain its identity, indicating that this batch of graduates will form the third diplomatic generation, which will take the responsibility of Qatari diplomacy in the future.
Al-Hammadi underscored the importance of social diplomacy in the modern diplomacy through mastery of the art of communication with others, adding that good communication and active diplomacy have made significant gains for Qatar at the Arab and international levels.
Dr Abdulaziz bin Mohamed al-Horr, director, Diplomatic Institute, said that DI’s management and training body considers each trainee as a future ambassador project, explaining that DI has two important programmes, the first is a founding programme and provides an overview of the diplomatic work, while the second programme accompanies the diplomat at all stages of his work through 10 political, economic, cultural, social and protocol programmes, among others.
