Hammadi vows govt support for people with special needs

Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed al Hammadi reaffirmed the right of students with visual impairment, especially the blind, to get health-related knowledge and cancer-related medical information in particular to help them in disease prevention and treatment.

The minister praised the efforts of government under the wise leadership of the Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani in providing people with special needs with quality education and integrated comprehensive social and health package.

Hammadi made the remarks on Tuesday while inaugurating three Braille awareness booklets released by the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) in collaboration with the Qatar Social and Cultural Center for the Blind.

The three booklets aimed at raising awareness on cancer among the visually impaired students.

The minister and QCS Chairman Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Jabor al Thani signed the three booklets in the presence of senior officials of the ministry and the QCS.
